AMT – Automated Manual Transmission
What is it?
AMT is a manual gearbox controlled automatically.
There is no clutch pedal and the car shifts gears on its own.
How it works:
Driver only uses brake & accelerator
Gear shifting is automated using sensors
Advantages:
✔ Cheapest automatic option
✔ Good mileage
✔ Easy to drive
Disadvantages:
✘ Gear shifts may feel jerky
✘ Not as smooth as full automatic
